-- Rebecca Ritter gives exasperated parents of young children to laugh in
her collection of 95 pithy expressions all have had occasion to utter. The
laughter that "95 Things I Never Thought I'd Say or Hear... Until I Had Kids"
incites is the laughter of recognition. Who has not found himself uttering, to
his own children, words similar to these: "Because I said so", "Just wait until
your father gets home", "If you would listen the first time, I wouldn't have to
yell"... just to name a few. Ritter put this collection together from a journal
she kept of "parent-isms" she was amused to hear coming out of her own mouth.
Readers of the book will find themselves dipping in to it at trying moments and
finding refreshment in the humorous perspective it offers.
Ms. Tinder is a member of the Screenwriters' Guild, The Writers' Building,
American Zoetrope and other screenwriting organizations. She has written several
screenplays, sitcom pilots and short features, and has now ventured into
noveling. "And She Finally Learned" is the first of several books Ms. Tinder has
planned to write in the forthcoming months. In this story, protragonist Heather
Rose's name might bring to one's mind images of beautiful flowering plants with
a rainbow of colors, softness and sweet aroma to fill the senses. Yet for her,
life is anything but that, as she comes of age in a world of rejection, broken
heartedness and cleverly crafted lies.
Canadian Kent Budden reveals where he believes was the location of the first
European colony established in North America. Was Straumsfjord of the great
Norse sagas a real colony established in Vinland around the year 1007 A.D., or
was it just a myth passes down by word-of-mouth for 300 years before it was
finally written down? Although theories abound about the location of this Viking
age community, none come close to having the incredible evidence presented by
author Kent Budden as he meticulously presents the evidence in support of his
theory. "Vinland Discovery - The Unfinished Story" will tickle your intellect
with fascinating evidence, including geography, caribou pitfalls, a special
sunstone, house foundation sites, burial mounds and other artifacts.
Thomas Edward gives readers a humorous, adventure-packed and fascinating glimpse
into the life of a young, bisexual man involved in the world of rough and tumble
professional wrestling in his novel, "Fighting Girls". The story takes place in
1979 when America is feeling weakened by the hostage standoff in Iran and by
long lines at the gas pumps. Against this backdrop, protagonist Ken Webb hopes
to gain acceptance as one of the boys by entering the wrestling profession, but
his new career soon takes an amazing twist. In our interview, Edward details how
the promoters want to pit the 160-pound Webb against their women wrestlers - a
first mixed match (man versus woman) in history.

-- First up, how does society view older women seeing younger men -
especially when it's an affair? Author Sissy de Grace tackles this uncomfortable
and often overlooked social issue in her new book, "Passage of Time". She weaves
a tale of human relationships and introspection into her novel, rivaling some of
today's current best sellers. "Passage of Time" deals with the subjects of being
true to one's self and fidelity. At no point is the reader given the easy
choice, and their heart will be taken along, as Genevieve (the main character)
struggles with what is right morally and emotionally.
Then, Global Talk Radio speaks with Jawa and Dana all the way from Kuwait. Their
delightful novel of (mis)adventure features two Kuwaiti teenage sisters, who
have been called the Kuwaiti version of Mary-Kate and Ashley. Accompanied by
their cousin, they head out on a series of exciting, and sometimes harrowing,
adventures. Without their parents' knowledge, the firls sneak off to the island
of Cyprus. What started out as a search for the ultimate "soul-mate" ended in a
series of "unfortunate events".
Tamara Shepherd also visited with A Story to Tell this week, to introduce us her
to new book, "Evan, The Warrior of Nod", which is the first in a three-part
series, which will not only take your imagination on a great adventure, but show
your child/young adult self acceptance, courage, responsibility and many other
important needs in life. Tamara hopes that readers will come out with
rejuvinated imaginations, having learned how to see themselves for who they are.
Evan has to face responsibility, courage, understanding love, having respect,
and remaining determined in spite of the situation - these are some of the
character qualities Tamara hopes to stress throughout her book series.

-- First, Wiley Ezell is a retired insurance salesman from West Monroe,
Louisiana... but wait until he tells his personal story of his life-changing
death experience which, in his own words, made him "become a totally different
man". He has given his testimony in churches all over the state and continues to
be an avid student of the Word. "Last Chance" is Wiley's first book, and a
blessing and promise from God, telling how God used a heart atack and a
subsequent death experience to offer Wiley his last chance for a spirit-filled
walk with God. "Last Chance" chronicles Wiley's life up to his amazing medically
documented true death experience, then follows him through his total life
change, including the spiritual warfare he battles everday, as well as
uplighting accounts of how God has and continues to use him to show His healing
power and grace. Whether you are a believe or not, you won't want to miss
Wiley's fantastic story.
Then, Michael J. Russ has been an investment executive for over 20 years with a
firm on the west coast and founded Powerful Living International, LLC in 2001.
His mission is to help people experience hope, love, joy, passion, happiness and
accomplishment in every aspect of their lives. Since 2000 Michael has written,
narrated and published four audio books to help people play a lower scoring game
of golf, manage adversity for success in sales and use "self-talk" to positively
influence every aspect of their lives. Michael spoke extensively with Global
Talk Radio about his latest audio book, "Design Your Life: Using Self-Talk to
Create Your Life One Day at a Time". He also noted that he prefers publishing
thoughts and ideas on audio CD because of his compelling and motivational nature
as a public speaker and the ease with which the information can be absorbed by
the listener.
Central to the discussion is the concept of "self-talk". "Self-talk" is a direct
reflection of your attitude and the feelings about yourself and is directly
connected to building inner strength. When one says "I can do this" or "I have
the strength and the energy to succeed", she is using self-talk that builds
confidence in herself and her abilities. This line of self-talk opens the door
to what's possible instead of what isn't.
